As Ukraine fights an unjust full-scale invasion and tensions rise across Eastern and Central Europe, artists are on the frontlines—using their work as a force of resistance, solidarity, and hope. For over 30 years, our founder Philip Arnoult built global networks connecting U.S. artists with their counterparts abroad. In his final years, Philip often said, “This is the moment my life’s work has been building toward.” That history positions CITD to rise to this moment, linking U.S. artists with resilient, virtuoso communities whose art channels resistance, hope, and the transformative power of theatre.

Contributions to CITD may be made to International Theatre Development (ITD), a public charity established by Philip in 2023 to carry on his life's work of connecting theatre artists around the globe. This includes all of CITD's current projects and others in the future. We are so grateful for your support.
