CURRENT PROJECTS
Our current work focuses on LINKAGES, a four-year project intended to build long-term relationships between a new generation of theatre leaders in the US to their peers in Eastern Europe – including artistic directors, directors, and academics. The project builds on CITD's four decades of creating bridges between theatre-makers in the US and Eastern Europe. In 2021, LINKAGES is an umbrella project with a two-pronged focus on Poland and Hungary. While our approaches' in each country are unique, each project shares two key imperatives:
-
to start and nurture conversations and relationships that will continue for decades among artists and leaders currently in their twenties, thirties, and forties
- to chronicle, via transcriptions, what a diversity of theatre-makers and thinkers are dealing with in these turbulent times, both in archival holdings and as resources for writers – to tell the stories as we live them
With the realities of the global pandemic, LINKAGES is being launched as a Zoom-based project for the first year—building new relationships in preparation for the time when travel is possible again.
